What does a product placement agency do?

A product placement agency helps brands become part of films, television shows and streaming stories. That can mean supplying a product a character would naturally use, developing a larger role for a brand within a scene, or building a partnership around a film’s release. At Mediaplacement, the work begins with the people making the content. We work with writers, producers, directors, prop masters, set decorators and costume departments to understand what a story needs and where a brand belongs. We then handle the strategy, negotiations, approvals, product delivery and measurement that bring the opportunity to life.

How do brands get products into movies and television?

The strongest placements start with a reason for the product to be there. It might fit a character, serve a practical need on set or become part of a moment the writers are already developing. Mediaplacement works directly with productions from the early stages through filming. Those relationships help us identify opportunities, introduce the right brands and pursue placements that feel natural to the story. Some involve a fee; many come from creative fit, production needs and relationships built over time.

Do brands have to buy advertising to appear in streaming content?

No. A brand can appear within a streaming show without buying an advertising package. Depending on the project, an integration may be secured through a paid agreement, a product trade or an organic production relationship. We help clients understand what a production is offering, what the opportunity is worth and whether a financial commitment makes sense. Our advice is guided by the brand’s goals, rather than a requirement to purchase media.

How is entertainment integration measured?

We look beyond whether a product appeared on screen. Our team evaluates how clearly the brand was seen or mentioned, how it was used in the story, how long it appeared, who watched and whether the audience matches the brand’s goals.
We report available viewership and demographic data alongside an estimated advertising-equivalent value. Where the data allows, we also examine earned media, social response and sales or geographic lift. These measures help clients understand both the exposure and the broader value of the moment.

How much does a film promotional partnership cost?

There is no standard price. The investment depends on the film, the rights and assets available, the scope of the campaign and what the brand wants to accomplish. A partnership might include a co-branded spot, social content, retail promotion, an event or a product collaboration. We help clients build a program around their actual marketing priorities and budget. Before recommending a commitment, we look closely at what the brand receives and how it can use the partnership.

How should brands evaluate a multimillion-dollar studio partnership?

Start with the fit between the film and the brand. A recognizable title or major star can create attention, but the partnership also needs a clear role for the brand and a plan to reach the right audience. We evaluate the story, cast, audience, release strategy, creative rights, promotional assets and the commitments required from both sides. Then we help the client decide what the opportunity is worth, negotiate the terms and determine whether it deserves a place in the marketing budget.

What makes a good product placement?

A good placement makes sense in the story and gives the audience a chance to recognize the brand. We consider the character and scene, the clarity and length of exposure, the audience reached and whether the moment can lead to a larger conversation through social, publicity or other marketing. Screen time matters, but context matters just as much. A brief, memorable interaction can be more valuable than a longer appearance that viewers barely notice.

What return can a client expect from working with Mediaplacement?

The return depends on the project and the role the brand plays in it. An integration can continue reaching audiences as a film or show is discovered, rewatched and shared. A promotional partnership can also create value across publicity, social, retail and events. We measure the results we can see and help clients understand their limits. For example, Cold Stone Creamery and Pinkberry’s Barbie partnership generated a 900% increase in social engagement and a measurable sales lift. Razer’s appearance in NOPE delivered 111 seconds of screen exposure and approximately $10.48 million in estimated advertising-equivalent value. Those are examples of what the right opportunity can achieve, rather than a promised outcome for every campaign.

Why choose Mediaplacement for Product placement?

Mediaplacement has worked directly with the people who make entertainment since 1998. More than 75% of our opportunities originate through production-first relationships, giving our clients access to possibilities that may never appear in a standard advertising package. Our team works across product placement, scripted brand integration, studio partnerships, talent and creator programs, premieres and experiential campaigns. Our Writers Room program connects with more than 200 creators each month, helping brands build relationships while stories are still taking shape. We bring creative judgment to every opportunity, from the first conversation through negotiation, execution and measurement. That is how we help brands find a place in the stories people choose to watch.

Ready to find your brand's place in the story?

The best opportunities are shaped long before cameras roll, while scripts are still being written, sets designed and characters developed. That’s where Mediaplacement works, and that’s where your brand should be.
